The International Media Academy (IMA) is a Berlin-based organization working at the intersection of journalism, media development, and international cooperation.

IMA develops training, mentoring, exchange, and capacity-building formats in collaboration with partners across different regions. Our work is shaped by local needs, professional standards, and long-term cooperation.

Our approach

IMA works through close cooperation with local partners, trainers, experts, and media professionals. Each program is shaped by the political, social, and media context of the region.

People behind IMA

IMA is led by a small core team and supported by an international network of trainers, journalists, researchers, and local partners. Together, we design and deliver media development programs across different regions.

Jasper leads IMA’s strategic development, partnerships, and international cooperation projects. He works with partners, institutions, and experts to design media development programs tailored to specific regional contexts.

Maria supports project coordination, communication, and digital visibility at IMA. Her work connects project management, content development, social media, and partner communication across international media projects.

Max keeps team morale high, reminds everyone to take breaks, and ensures no snack goes unnoticed. His enthusiasm for each new workday is matched only by his dedication to lunchtime.

Trainers & experts

IMA works with an international network of journalists, editors, researchers, and media professionals. Depending on the project, we assemble teams with the expertise needed for each region, topic, and training format.
